Sometimes I struggle as one who serves in the "inspirational" genre, especially on social media. It can be hard to be a struggling empath with a quirky, sometimes sarcastic and/or dark sense of humor when trying to balance honesty, inspiration, light, and syrup: oh those memes, quotes, misquotes, plagiarism, and one of the worst: cliches!
I've been around a while, and learned a few things along the way. I believe one should leave this world a bit more, for the moment shared with it; perhaps it's time I try.

A Relatively Short Moment of Truth
I posted this earlier this week in a more personal spot on social media, and was encouraged to share it, here. Inasmuch as this is actually something that really does resonate with me - lately, in particular - I figure I might as well, since that's why we're here. So, here:

Forcing the Force of Forced Gratitude
Forced gratitude.
Sometimes just taking energy we feel like we don't have
and forcing ourselves to look at things differently can save our sanity....

A Bittersweet Break for a Day
Hello my friends. I'm just taking a moment to think out a few things, so I hope you don't mind if I take you with me? Well, I suppose if you do, you can just stop reading, and no harm done!

A Gnarled Bit of Wood
I have the wonderful opportunity to be able to serve as a volunteer at a local hospital, a few hours, once a week. This week, volunteering was exhausting, but always nice to get out and do it. While there, I had a couple of really interesting conversations, with some odd sorts of realizations!

Perfection in the Personal Paradox
Hello, again. I promise I'm still around, and working toward progress. You'd be surprised at how many drafts from over the years I have sitting there, started but not feeling "right". But that actually plays well with the idea that I've thought to share for this week. Let's see if it gets out for you to read! It's a little raw, just so you know. But that's how it's been, lately, and what falls out of my mind is usually filtered through whatever is on it at the time. Pretty sure that's the way it works for a lot of things, for a lot of people. Anyway, here we go.

Achieving Success the Ordinary, Imperfect Way
These past, few weeks, I've been spending time with my memories, feelings and thoughts about a life remembered; having a few experiences connecting my heart and mind to the imperfections of the present; and attempting to focus my dreams and goals toward an unpredictable future, as the anniversary of my birth looms near! It's been a rather full month!
And here, we continue onward. So let's do this, hmm?

The Colors of our Lives
I was going through my post drafts' list here in the catacombs of the history of this blog, and found this one from August of 2014. I cannot remember to whom I wrote the message, but it might as well have been my future self, at that point, because reading it right now has given me a very surprising reminder of something I think I might have forgotten. Have a read!

The Beauty in the Heart of Life
What does the heart contain, which allows it to create; and what's more, to create beauty? Or even to simply appreciate beauty? What is within us that allows it to reside, there, and to come out of us?
Yup. That is the question. Well, a few of them. Hopefully you'll see what I mean.

The Dream of Each and Every Universe
I need to give you a bit of a disclaimer, this time. Well, maybe not a "disclaimer", but more like... a warning?
Nah, not so much of a "warning" as perhaps... notification?
Um... that sounds so business like! I'm not a bill collector!
Just letting you know...
I'm about to let my inner nerd/geek show, a little.

Keeping Anything, as a Part of You
Since I've sort of been breaking my standard format for a few weeks, I figured I might as well go with something a bit different, again. I was reading some things about journaling, and one idea came to my mind that caught my attention. So, I thought I'd share it, because sometimes my readers let me know that my random thoughts are just what they needed to read. So I try to trust my "instincts".Monday, August 10, 2015

Worthwhile, Broken, Butterfly Wings, and Other Things
I'm not sure how to describe this week's post, actually. It could be seen as part macabre, and part inspiration, perhaps? Don't worry, though...I have young friends who read this blog, so I'm going to do my best to keep it in the spirit of the PB Project in general. It's just that I found this quote and it has been nudging me for ages, begging to be used, and I've not been giving it its due, so...here we go.
No idea what I'll be writing after this, but hopefully it will be worth reading!

The Magnum Opus in the Garden of our Soul
Do you happen to like butterflies? I would imagine we might have at least that in common! ;)Well, let's consider the butterfly, for a moment. Might as well, right?

Not Just Carpe Diem ... Memento Vivere
I'm taking a bit of a different tack on this one, than I had previously decided.
We'll see how that turns out.

How Do I Love Thee? No, Seriously - How?
Okay..so I mentioned last week, as I have before, that I'm a little squirmy with the holiday observance thing. But you know... there are some pretty powerful thingies that can be related to the reasons we celebrate those other thingies! And I'm all for acknowledging and celebrating powerful, worthwhile thingies! For instance, there is light, hope, courage... and of course love. So please bear with me as I continue to take advantage of the spirit of the month with my topics.

Gifts from the Past, Imperfect and Precious
Had to shift around some storage boxes today, and came across a few, in particular, with great, sentimental value.
