From Memes, to Memories, to Meanings

Sometimes I struggle as one who serves in the "inspirational" genre, especially on social media.  It can be hard to be a struggling empath with a quirky, sometimes sarcastic and/or dark sense of humor when trying to balance honesty, inspiration, light, and syrup: oh those memes, quotes, misquotes, plagiarism, and one of the worst: cliches!

I Write... Because...

This week, I'm going to write about... my writing.  I'd more or less been floating around a topic for this week's post, and came across something which resonated so purely with me, it dropped all the other thoughts I'd had, and had me riveted.  This post is unlikely to be as riveting as her message was to me, but it might at least touch someone, in some way, hopefully positive, and that is all it is meant to be.  My heart speaking to someone else's.  So, here we go.

Lovely Lamps, and Wondrous Windows!

Keeping with our gratitude theme, though I'm a bit hesitant as we've reached the time of year in which many on the internet have "jumped on the bandwagon" regarding the topic, I saw a prompt asking my favorite, physical trait.  As an American, this is not typically an area I like to discuss, especially since time and illness have started making me feel a bit more self-conscious, even in my attitude of not caring so much what others think.

However, maybe doing this will be another good thing?  Let's find out, shall we?

The Risks and Courage of Real Conversations

Have you ever known someone with whom things just seemed to "click", as we say here in the States?  Meaning, you meet a new person whom you've never known before, and as you get to know them, it's as though you've known each other all your lives, or longer, and/or as though you are almost like the same person, or a reflection of each other?  Some call these situations "kindred spirits", or in a more romantic sense, "soul mates".

        Just wondering.

Dancing, Every Moment of the Journey

This week, I decided we needed to lighten things up a bit.  I've been going on about such heavy topics lately, and while they have their own merit, I do have the occasional, lighter moment, and so should you!  However, I never, really know what is going to fall out of my head, so we'll see when we get there.

Choosing Your Own Challenge of Courage and Change

I would like to start with a truth, this week.  I usually throw a truth or two into the mix, at some point, but this time, I want to start with one that will set the stage for whatever it is that will come after the page break.  An important one, and somewhat multi-faceted.

The truth:  I am not good with change.

Smiling in the Face of Life's Experience

Ever have an experience in life when you've made choices that led to amazing things...
and then ended up with undesirable consequences?

Or perhaps an experience when you've felt absolutely wonderful...
and then suddenly something happens and you're left with undesirable
(even horrible) circumstances?

Well, I have some news for you!

Life's Renewal in the Flow of Change

Here in my little corner of the world, Spring is having a bit of a bumpy start, but I see the life around me trying to renew itself, and it doesn't matter what the weather tries to throw at it; the life continues trying to grow and continue with its tasks of existence.  I do realize in other corners of the world, the changes grow colder, which in and of itself is still life moving through its cycles, if only taking a few moments to rest and catch its breath.

So... the constant of change continues.

And it continues in every life, one way or another.

Dancing to the Beat of My Own Heart Strings!

Once again, I'm sitting here feeling a bit torn.  On the one hand, February is, in my part of the world, traditionally celebrated (at least the first half) as a month for love.  I'm not sure why we seem to have to have a theme for each month, but it appears that love is the theme for February.

So what to do?  Go with it, or rebel? *sigh*  Choices, choices...

A Letter to the Powers That Be

Dear Life,

Thank you for being a part of my existence.  I want to let you know some of what I think of you, and the things I know of you, based on my experience, so far, in your care.

A Sincere Thank You! And Full Steam Ahead!

When something amazing and wonderful comes along, it's important to not only feel grateful, but to openly acknowledge it.  Therefore, this post is dedicated to something that has been just like that!

Never Make It Late to Your Own Future!

I have to admit I've been chuckling, trying to decide how to carry the rest of my personal challenge of answering the "Motivational Mondays" posts out, for this year...and clearly I didn't plan it out, ahead of time!  But that's okay!  Because you know what?  Life is messy, and it's beautiful that way, so I'm going to pretend that totally carries over, here.  Especially since last week, I was beginning a pre-Christmas post on Christmas night, and I'm now beginning this one shortly before New Year's Eve begins! \o/ (Yes, I do these before Sunday at midnight, folks!)

A Matter of Moments, Milestones, and Mental Meanderings

Here we are, at Week 18 of my Motivational Mondays, personal challenge, and I must say that this past week, as I compose this, I'm doing a whole heckuvalot better than I was last week!  Actually, better than I have been for...a while.

This week's question is perfectly timed, actually...so let's get into the fun, hmm?

Joy and Wonder: Some Assembly Required

An image I saw the other day:

A sign in the snow, next to a top hat, scarf, carrot and two buttons, which said:

"Snowman for sale.  Some assembly required."
